Learning Malaysia solar photovoltaic R&D capabilities from Professor IR Nasrudin Bin Abd Rahim, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation)-University of Malaya Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC). His R&D labs are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as electroluminescence-measurement system, high precision solar cell I-V tester, 12kW photovoltaic array simulator testing and more.
After touring University of Malaysia Solar PV R&D labs, I shared my international industrial work experiences with university students and gives talks on Silicon Czhoralski crystal defect in device. Most of solar panel that is available in Malaysia is made from Silicon.
